I am largely overwhelmed by contemporary cities and metropolises. For me, the public space of the cities and the urban transport networks constitute ‘platforms’ for ceaseless flanerie and inspiration as well as sources of imagination. Nowadays urban flanerie can take place either physically (through walking in the city or using city transit) or virtually (by using Geospatial Technologies publicly available online). I tend to use both kinds of experience in order to capture the city’s pulse and to reveal its ambience in a glocal (global or local) level.
I consider painting the epitome of my artistic practice, because it enables me to present my visions for the contemporary world as well as for the future of humanity. My artistic practice also involves printmaking, poetry, constructions, interventions and new media.
