Στο έργο Φόρα την πόλη και θα γίνεις φόρεμά της ! (2025) οι έλικες από τα ελικόμορφα κιονόκρανα της Παναγίας Δεξιάς, εκκλησίας στο Κέντρο της Θεσσαλονίκης, γίνονται η κόμμωση και το κοστούμι της γυναικείας φιγούρας της παραπάνω εικόνας. Η σπείρα στις μπούκλες και στο φόρεμα δεν προεκτείνεται πλέον εξωτερικά στο άπειρο, αλλά “συναντάει” σε κάθε περίπτωση την αντίστοιχη περίπου συμμετρική της και μαζί σχηματίζουν τη γυναικεία μορφή. Η σπείρα (ή έλικα) αποτελεί σχήμα πολιτισμών χιλιάδων χρόνων ιστορίας, αλλά και σχήμα της φύσης, καθώς το βρίσκουμε σε κοχύλια, σαλιγκάρια, γαλαξίες και στο σώμα μας: στο αυτί και στο δέρμα των δακτύλων. Η σπείρα, λοιπόν, στο Φόρα την πόλη και θα γίνεις φόρεμά της ! (2025) γίνεται σώμα και μνημείο, άνθρωπος και πολιτισμός.
Wearable helices
In the artwork Wear the City and You Will Become Its Dress ! (2025), helices (or spirals) from the spiral-shaped capitals of Panagia Dexia, a church in Thessaloniki centre, become the headdress and the costume of the female figure of the picture above. The spiral in her curls and in her dress no longer extends outwards to infinity, but instead it ends to another almost symmetrical spiral and, thus, the female figure is formed. The spiral (or helix) is a shape spanning thousands of years of history among civilisations, but also a shape of nature, as we find it in shells, snails, galaxies, and in our bodies: in the ear and on the skin of our fingers. The spiral, therefore, in Wear the City and You Will Become Its Dress ! (2025) becomes simultaneously a body and a monument, a person and a civilisation.
